Estimator - Commercial Drywall & Metal Framing

About The Position

We are looking for an Estimator to develop accurate bids for commercial construction projects in a multi-trade subcontractor environment, with direct ownership of takeoffs, scope review, pricing, and proposal preparation. This role will focus on drywall, acoustical, flooring, and metal framing scopes and requires a strong understanding of commercial construction drawings, specifications, materials, and building processes. The Estimator will work closely with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to develop competitive and complete estimates. This is a hands-on estimating role suited for someone with 3–5 years of relevant estimating or project management experience who can work independently and accurately manage multiple bids.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in estimating or project management within commercial drywall, acoustical, flooring, or metal framing construction.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Mathematics, or a related field strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of the drywall and metal framing construction industry and the commercial building process.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and perform accurate mathematical takeoffs.
Experience with construction estimating or project management software preferred.
Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Commercial interior trade experience is required; candidates without relevant drywall, acoustical, flooring, or metal framing experience will not be a strong fit.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Mathematics, or a related field strongly preferred.
Experience with construction estimating or project management software preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, acoustical, flooring, and metal framing projects from bid documents through final proposal.
Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope requirements and potential estimating risks.
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs.
Develop competitive pricing and identify exclusions, scope gaps, and potential cost impacts before bids are submitted.
Apply knowledge of commercial construction processes, building codes, materials, equipment, and project requirements when developing estimates.
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, project teams, and other stakeholders to obtain pricing and clarify project scope.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure estimates accurately reflect project requirements.
Use construction estimating or project management software to organize bid information, pricing, and project documentation.
Support project teams with estimating information, cost analysis, and scope clarification throughout the bidding and project process.
