About The Position

At Barrier Compliance Services, our Estimators play a critical role in our growth. You won’t simply be putting numbers on a spreadsheet. You’ll help identify opportunities, build competitive estimates, develop proposals, work directly with customers, and help bring new projects through the door. We’re looking for an experienced Estimator who understands commercial construction, enjoys the challenge of putting together a winning bid, and wants the opportunity to take ownership of the estimating process. You’ll work on projects ranging from $5,000 to $5 million, manage multiple opportunities at a time, and collaborate with our team from the initial bid invitation through contract award. Level and compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated estimating capabilities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial construction estimating and/or project management experience
  • Experience managing the estimating process from takeoffs and pricing through proposal submission and contract review
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating construction contracts
  • Experience with Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff, or PlanSwift
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Calendar
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, criminal background check, and driver’s license check

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on project management or field installation experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute preconstruction strategies that support company growth and new contract goals
  • Estimate commercial construction projects ranging from $5,000 to $5 million
  • Actively manage approximately 5 to 10 opportunities at a time
  • Review plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate project pricing
  • Prepare competitive estimates and detailed proposals
  • Solicit and respond to bid invitations
  • Participate in pre bid walkthroughs, preconstruction meetings, and project discussions as needed
  • Manage opportunities from initial review through contract award
  • Review and negotiate contracts
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners
  • Work closely with the internal team to ensure accurate and complete proposals
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with customers throughout the bidding process
  • Help maintain and strengthen the professional and ethical reputation of our construction team
