Estimating Take-Off Technician
About The Position
Blythe Development, a licensed general contractor specializing in site work, road construction, and golf course construction, is seeking a CAD Technician to join their Estimating Department in South Charlotte, NC. The company, founded in 1989, has operations including clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining walls, culverts, bridges, stone base, and asphalt paving. Blythe Development employs over 900 people and self-performs 80% of site groundwork. This role will support the Estimating Department of a large Heavy Highway/Civil Contractor.
Requirements
- Strong computer background
- Ability to work together and communicate as a team
- Ability to multitask while working on multiple projects at the same time
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability
- Capacity to handle pressure
- Strong focus on quality and accuracy is required
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of CAD-based platforms including Blue Beam Revu, Excel, and Agtek are a plus
Responsibilities
- Aid in consulting with clients and members of the design and construction teams to discuss specifics for design build projects.
- Create models and produce quantities for earthwork and underground utility.
- Update existing projects with new surfaces from drone files.
- Incorporate Geotech information into earthwork files & quantities.
- Transfer Cad information into earthwork software.
