About The Position

The Intake & Concept Estimating Project Manager leads the intake, feasibility review, conceptual estimating, and early-stage planning of capital construction projects. This role serves as the primary entry point for project requests, partnering with Facilities, Finance, Space Planning, Engineering, IT, and other stakeholders to evaluate project viability, develop conceptual budgets, and support capital planning initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in construction estimating, capital project management, preconstruction, or facilities planning.
  • Strong experience developing conceptual estimates and early-stage project budgets.
  • Knowledge of capital planning, project scheduling, feasibility analysis, and construction delivery methods.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, CCM, CEP, PSP, or related professional certification.
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital improvement programs.
  • Familiarity with project closeout processes, commissioning, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience within healthcare, academic medical center, higher education, institutional, or complex facilities environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the intake and review process for capital project requests.
  • Evaluate project feasibility, scope, risks, operational impacts, and regulatory considerations.
  • Develop conceptual cost estimates, budgets, contingencies, and escalation forecasts.
  • Prepare preliminary project schedules, milestone plans, and high-level schedule assumptions.
  • Support capital planning, project prioritization, and funding strategy discussions.
  • Track projects through intake, estimating, and preconstruction review phases.
  • Maintain cost benchmarking data, historical pricing databases, and reporting tools.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities including financial reconciliation, documentation, regulatory closeout, and commissioning records.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive informed project decision-making and improve intake and estimating processes.
