About The Position

At MetalTek International, we manufacture custom, high-performance castings for some of the world’s most demanding applications. We are seeking an Estimating Engineer to develop accurate cost and lead-time estimates that support competitive customer quotes and successful production planning. In this role, you will review customer drawings, specifications, material requirements, and manufacturing needs to build complete estimates for custom castings. You will work closely with sales, engineering, metallurgy, manufacturing, quality, and operations to ensure each quote reflects the true cost and complexity of the work, including casting, heat treating, machining, inspection, quality requirements, and outside processing when needed. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys technical details, cross-functional collaboration, and helping turn customer requirements into manufacturable solutions.

Requirements

• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Excellent communication, computer, analytical, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Degree in business, engineering, materials technology, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• Experience in metals manufacturing, foundry, machining, fabrication, or technical manufacturing preferred.
• Prior estimating experience in a foundry, machining, or metals manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate cost and lead-time estimates for custom castings.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Estimate material, labor, casting, heat treating, machining, quality, inspection, and outside processing costs.
• Partner with sales, engineering, metallurgy, manufacturing, quality, and operations to support complete and competitive quotes.
• Identify risks, assumptions, special processes, and manufacturability considerations during the quoting process.
