About The Position

The Boeing Company's Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Estimating and Pricing Specialist (Senior or Lead) to join their team. This role focuses on developing estimates for Air Dominance Proprietary programs and is open to various experience levels (Level 4 and Level 5 Specialists). The position involves creating budgetary and formal estimates (labor, material, travel, etc.) and cost/price proposals for new business, contract changes, and follow-on work. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher
5+ years of experience in a business-related role (finance, contracts, accounting, etc.)
5+ years of experience in developing estimates
5+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLookups, pivot tables, charts, etc.
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance or higher

Nice To Haves

10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with and knowledge of United States Government Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Experience performing parametric estimates and data analysis
Experience using data analysis to drive decision making
Experience leading projects with little direct supervision and driving projects to completion
Experience presenting to senior leadership
Experience performing opportunity and risk analysis

Responsibilities

Leads development of complex estimates and prices from complex technical requirements through the design, build, and support stages of the program.
Leads development and application of complex estimating and pricing strategies using innovative computational techniques.
Guides business proposals, evaluates, and makes recommendations based on complex or unique requests for proposals, and substantiates estimates and pricing.
Leads and performs complex analysis, and provides recommendations in support of pricing and estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.).
Coordinates and collaborates with proposal teams and cost element functional owners to develop appropriate basis of estimate and substantiation of cost estimates, proposals, and other related business decision data.
Provides fact-finding, negotiation, and audit support of cost proposal artifacts, and coordinates responses through proposal teams.
Supports, prepares, and briefs senior leader-level presentations.
Identifies, assesses, and implements changes to processes, tools, and techniques to simplify estimating and pricing methodologies and improve cost estimating accuracy.
Supports compliance activities.
