Esthetician - Part Time - Independence
About The Position
The Esthetician provides salon clientele with professional services relating to the care and treatment of skin, including services such as facials, hair removal, and body treatments. The role focuses on delivering high-quality technical services, recommending appropriate retail products, building and maintaining a client base, and meeting personal service and retail sales goals. The Esthetician participates in ongoing education on products, services, and current industry issues, with opportunities for in-house and outside classes. The position also includes maintaining a clean, organized work area and salon, following State Board regulations and salon guidelines, and maintaining a professional appearance. The role is part-time, nonexempt, and based in a salon in a premier mall location.
Requirements
- Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
- Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry preferred.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
- Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
- Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
- Provide quality professional service through technical skills and prescribe appropriate retail products to clients.
- Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
- Exhibit good communication skills.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education on products, services, and current industry issues.
- Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
- Perform basic salon housekeeping duties, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining client cards.
- Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
- Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
- Meet salon guidelines for attendance and tardiness.
- Maintain an updated professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
