Esthetician - Part Time
About The Position
The Esthetician provides salon clientele with professional services relating to the care and treatment of skin, including facials, hair removal, and body treatments. The role focuses on delivering technically skilled client services, recommending appropriate retail products, building and maintaining a client base, and meeting personal service and retail sales goals. The Esthetician participates in ongoing education on products, services, and industry developments, with opportunities for in-house and outside classes. The position is based in a salon located in a high-traffic premier mall and reports to the Salon Manager. It is nonexempt and part-time.
Requirements
- Possess a valid and current board-certified license.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
- Ability to work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Two to five years of experience in the cosmetology or cosmetic industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed personal service and retail sales goals.
- Acknowledge clients within a reasonable time after they check into the salon.
- Build a client base by recruiting New Request Clients and maintaining Customer Client Cards.
- Provide quality professional services through technical skills and prescribe appropriate retail products to clients.
- Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
- Exhibit good communication skills.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education on products, services, and current industry issues.
- Ensure the personal work area and salon meet or exceed State Board Regulations.
- Perform basic salon housekeeping, including cleaning, stocking, and managing client cards.
- Organize time and resources effectively to meet sales goals.
- Communicate issues and needs to Salon Management.
- Meet salon attendance and tardiness guidelines.
- Maintain an updated professional appearance and comply with the salon dress code.
