About The Position

Grand View Lodge is looking for an experienced, people-focused spa professional to serve as the Esthetic & Nail Department Lead. This role involves performing esthetic and/or nail services, supporting scheduling, training, service quality, inventory, guest recovery, and day-to-day operational flow. The lead will partner with Spa Leadership to maintain luxury standards, consistent guest experience, and a strong team culture. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys developing others, and is ready for increased ownership within a world-class resort spa.

Requirements

  • Current Minnesota esthetician, cosmetology, or nail technician license as required for assigned services.
  • Minimum 2 years of spa, salon, nail, esthetic, or luxury guest-service experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong technical service skills with a commitment to luxury guest care, sanitation, and treatment consistency across both esthetics and nail disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills; you stay calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
  • Comfort using Book4Time, Hotel Effectiveness, ALICE, timekeeping tools, and basic email and reporting functions.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift or carry up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior lead, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred; you're comfortable coaching peers with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Experience with retail, inventory, product management, vendor relations, menu development, or spa events is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform esthetic and/or nail services as scheduled, modeling guest journey standards and service excellence for your team.
  • Lead daily stand-up meetings and maintain consistent department communication across service, product, and operational topics.
  • Assist with scheduling in Book4Time and Hotel Effectiveness, managing coverage needs, adjustments, call-outs, and appointment flow to keep the day running smoothly.
  • Support onboarding, new-hire training, ongoing education, vendor trainings, service protocol updates, and department SOPs.
  • Monitor technical quality, sanitation standards, room readiness, and treatment consistency; coach team members proactively and document concerns with Spa Leadership.
  • Maintain clean, fully stocked, and guest-ready treatment rooms, equipment, retail shelves, back-bar areas, and supply stations across both departments.
  • Assist with guest recovery; resolving difficult situations professionally, ensuring concerns are addressed and documented appropriately.
  • Partner with Spa Leadership on team check-ins, recognition, attendance communication, timeclock edits, and accountability follow-through.
  • Support the development and rollout of new services, menu descriptions, promotions, packages, events, and retail and back-bar opportunities.
  • Maintain retail conversion at 25% or higher; champion ongoing retail recommendation training and additional development modules as needed.
  • Work with skincare vendor representatives to schedule trainings and incentives that keep the team current and engaged.
  • Assist with monthly inventory, product research, ordering, receiving, vendor relations, ALICE tickets, and facility follow-up.
  • This is a resort hospitality role; a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, peak periods, and special events is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
