About The Position

Gembala, McLaughlin & Pecora Co., LPA is a multi-faceted law firm looking for a highly qualified attorney to join the Estate Planning, Probate & Transactional department. This role involves collaborating with other departments, participating in leadership, and contributing to marketing strategies. The successful candidate will handle a variety of estate planning and transactional matters, manage cases independently, and maintain professional client communications and business development.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
• 3-5 years of Estate Planning and Probate Administration; some transactional experience preferred but not required.
• Understanding of courts probate procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization, time management, and project management skills.
• Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, along with ability to work independently on various projects.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in drafting wills, trusts (revocable, irrevocable, special needs), powers of attorney and advanced directives.
• Understand the tax consequences of various planning choices.
• A book of portable business is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and reciprocate with the litigation and domestic relations departments.
• Become an active part of leadership within the firm.
• Participate in marketing strategies and efforts.
• Handle commercial and residential real estate transactions, including purchase agreements, land installment contracts, leases, deeds and easements.
• Handle probate and trust administration issues.
• Independently manage assigned cases and docket.
• Work effectively with other firm attorneys and professional staff.
• Provide timely and professional communications to clients.
• Effectively pursue business development initiatives and client relationships
