About The Position

Gembala, McLaughlin & Pecora Co., LPA is a multi-faceted law firm looking for a highly qualified attorney to join the Estate Planning, Probate & Transactional department. The role involves being an Associate Attorney within this department, working alongside other attorneys, paralegals, and secretarial staff. The position also requires collaboration with the litigation and domestic relations departments, active participation in firm leadership, and involvement in marketing strategies. A portable book of business is considered a plus.

Requirements

JD from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
3-5 years of Estate Planning and Probate Administration experience.
Understanding of court probate procedures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organization, time management, and project management skills.
Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, along with ability to work independently on various projects.

Nice To Haves

Some transactional experience preferred but not required.
A book of portable business is a plus.

Responsibilities

Drafting wills, trusts (revocable, irrevocable, special needs), powers of attorney and advanced directives.
Understanding the tax consequences of various planning choices.
Handling commercial and residential real estate transactions, including purchase agreements, land installment contracts, leases, deeds and easements.
Handling probate and trust administration issues.
Independently managing assigned cases and docket.
Working effectively with other firm attorneys and professional staff.
Providing timely and professional communications to clients.
Effectively pursuing business development initiatives and client relationships.
