About The Position

As an ESS Cell Development Engineer, you will support the research, development, testing, and validation of lithium-ion battery cells for Energy Storage System (ESS) applications. This role partners with cross-functional teams to evaluate battery performance, support prototype development, analyze technical data, and contribute to continuous product and process improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
Knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology, battery materials, electrochemistry, or analytical instrumentation is preferred.
1-3 years of engineering experience, including internship or co-op experience, in battery development, product development, research and development, manufacturing, or a related engineering environment.
Experience supporting lithium-ion battery products or ESS technologies is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology and electrochemical principles.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to interpret technical data and engineering documentation.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
Project coordination and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
Bilingual (English/Korean) proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the development and validation of lithium-ion battery cells for ESS applications.
Analyze battery cell specifications and engineering data to support product quality, performance, and reliability objectives.
Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving battery cell specifications and technical documentation.
Support prototype builds, testing activities, and performance evaluations.
Collect, analyze, and interpret laboratory and production test data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Assist with research and development projects, including prototype evaluation and product validation.
Coordinate testing activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project objectives.
Investigate quality concerns and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, manufacturing processes, and battery performance.
Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and fire protection requirements.
Complete daily documentation and maintain accurate engineering records.
Follow established work instructions and safety requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned
