About The Position

As a production manager at Riot, you are the lookout making sure our production teams have what they need to bring players the best esports productions possible. Together with our Producers, Studio Operations Team, and Tech Team, you’ll work to meet all production needs and deliver shows on time and within budget. You’ll work closely with a passionate team of Rioters that delivers the LCS broadcasts from our Santa Monica studios every week. You’ll report to the Manager, esports Production Management and oversee the day to day broadcast operations for the League Championship Series productions in the Americas. You’ll also lead the broadcast production management for road shows produced for the LCS.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years in television production - preferably in a live environment
  • Experience and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications, as well as the G Suite productivity apps (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.)
  • Experience managing large crews and tracking payroll
  • The ability to manage multiple departments and maintain alignment with goals between different teams

Nice To Haves

  • Adept at multi-tasking and able to prioritize, knowing when to change focus
  • Being an avid gamer and esports enthusiast is not a requirement for this role (but it helps, so mention it in your cover letter if you are!)
  • Experience with Airtable, or similar project management tools
  • Knowledge of Autocad, and budget management software (Moviemagic, Showbiz, etc)
  • Experience working in live sports

Responsibilities

  • Communicate broadcast crew and staff scheduling needs with the studio operations team, ensuring esports broadcast needs are met
  • Creation and distribution of show day schedules, call sheets, and production reports
  • Manage day of show operations, directing a team of PAs, and ensuring workplace safety and employment law compliance for the crew
  • Manage external broadcast vendors from onboarding through final payment, driving workflows for contracts, POs, and budget management
  • Assist with tracking and updating costs in the overall budget
  • Manage, lead, and participate in a regular cadence of production meetings with both internal and external teams
  • Manage broadcast requests for props, set decor, wardrobe, etc.
  • Liaise between broadcast and technical departments’ team leads to flag production asks and triage technical issues
  • Vet road show venues and act as the primary operational contact to ensure production needs are met from the pre-production phase through on-site production
