About The Position

African Communities Together (ACT) is seeking a motivated intern to join our Workforce Team in Fall 2026. The internship will support our Healthcare Support Career Accelerator tutoring program during the Fall 2026 cohort. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education and workforce development while building skills in program coordination, participant engagement, and community-based service delivery. This internship position will run for 3 months, and conclude on November 27th, 2026.

Requirements

• Experience facilitating tutoring sessions for individuals and groups.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Excellent in-person, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Must have access to a working laptop.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and other common business software.
• Understanding of and passion for ACT’s mission and values.
• Positive, proactive, and solution-oriented team player.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Comfort working with diverse, immigrant communities; multilingual a plus (e.g., French).
• Alignment with ACT’s mission and values.
• Must be available to come in on Tuesdays and Thursdays during class time

Nice To Haves

• Previous tutoring or ESOL teaching experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ESOL instructor during in-person HSCA classes (setup, materials, attendance).
• Provide weekly group and/or 1-on-1 tutoring for HSCA participants .
• Assist with administrative tasks as assigned
