About The Position

The International Institute of New England (IINE) is seeking a Temporary Part-time ESOL Instructor to provide English as a second language and literacy instruction to adult learners in a Level 2 ESOL class. This role operates remotely on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. The instructor will be responsible for creating lessons and will be compensated for 3 hours of preparation time in addition to 6 hours of instruction per week. The instructional methods should align with a student-centered learning philosophy. This is a temporary position ending August 13, 2026, with the assignment timeframe from July 6, 2026, through August 13, 2026.

Requirements

• Ability to model accurate American English pronunciation and grammar.
• Outstanding communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Interest in international, refugee, and asylee issues.
• Extremely well organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be able to demonstrate alphabetic writing skills with a marker, pen, or other hand-held writing implement.
• Must be able speak and hear verbal English used in the class instruction and student communication.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
• At least one year of adult ESOL teaching experience preferably with immigrant populations; experience with non-literate learners.

• Master’s Degree in teaching, education, or a relevant field preferred.
• TESOL/TEOFL Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction that reflects a cohesive approach to listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar.
• Prepare lesson plans and classroom materials utilizing program textbooks and supportive resources.
• Refer student and classroom issues/needs to the Education Manager.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Education Manager.
