About The Position

The ESN (Entrepreneurially Focused Sales and Account Managers) is a team of individuals supporting the Maritz brand with sourcing and other event services. These independent event strategists, located throughout the 50 U.S. states and District of Columbia (excluding California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Puerto Rico, and any countries outside of the US), design and implement meeting and incentive solutions for customers across industries in key markets around the world. This role offers a business opportunity for experienced hospitality sales and meeting-planning professionals seeking the independence and rewards of running their own business while offering innovative solutions for their customers. Success is achieved by tapping into the rich resources of the Maritz organization, discovering what works, and accelerating personal objectives with support available every step of the way. Maritz provides compelling products and services, along with tools and resources to set strategists apart, including solutions for businesses that conduct meetings with 10 or more people. The role requires selling and retaining accounts to achieve financial success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in sales, preferably within the hospitality business. Seasoned and successful sales professionals in other industries are also encouraged to apply.
  • Proof of LLC or Business License.
  • Proven negotiation skills and prior successful experience in developing and maintaining key client and supplier relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hotel buying, as well as strong knowledge of program/event budget maintenance.
  • Knowledge of travel supplier operations, overall capabilities/range of services.
  • Sales pipeline with detailed list of prospects to be added to the company CRM upon joining the ESN.
  • Knowledge of U.S. domestic and/or international hotels and destinations.

Responsibilities

  • New account identification, development, and solicitation.
  • Initiation, compilation, and presentation of site selection recommendations to prospective clients.
  • Sales proposal development, presentation, and client negotiations.
  • Initiation and negotiation of applicable hotel and meeting facility contracts.
  • Account management and administration.
