The ESL Teacher position is a full time, non-supervisory position providing students with appropriate educational activities and experiences that will enable them to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth while at the same time allowing them to acclimate into the English language. The Teacher's primary concern is the academic development of each student in mastering the English language while making efforts to master the skills as presented in the curriculum. This will enable the student to be prepared for the state required testing, graduation from high school and success after graduation. Member of the school administrative team as well as the Intervention Assistance Team (IAT). As the climate of the school culture has shifted due to the pandemic, additional requirements include but are not limited to: Addressing learning loss by: administering and using high-quality assessments to assess students’ academic progress and meet students’ academic needs, including through differentiating instruction; implementing evidence-based activities to meet the comprehensive needs of students; providing information and assistance to parent and families on how they can effectively support students, including in a distance learning environment; and/or tracking student attendance and improving student engagement in distance education.
