About The Position
The Toms River Regional Board of Education anticipates an opening for a PART TIME Elementary ESL Basic Skills Teacher. The Elementary English as a Second Language (ESL) Basic Skills program provides literacy intervention and remediation to ESL students. Teachers will receive a per diem rate (voucher pay). Location, calendar and schedule to be determined.
Requirements
- Elementary Education Certificate
- Knowledge of instructional strategies that support language acquisition to meet the needs of ESL students
- Familiarity with district's ELA curriculum and instructional programs

- Knowledge of the workshop model
- Knowledge of SIOP based instruction
- Knowledge of intervention strategies
- Ability to use language proficiency data to inform instruction
