About The Position

The ESG & Sustainability Compliance Specialist is responsible for directly assisting the Assistant General Counsel in the development and execution of the organization's sustainability vision, strategy, and programs. This role drives sustainability initiatives, ensures compliance with relevant ESG regulations and reporting requirements, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices across the enterprise. Operating within the Legal compliance function, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the organization meets its ESG obligations while advancing the organization’s sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or a related compliance field.
  • Strong understanding of ESG regulations, reporting standards, and sustainability best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to professionally present complex information to executive and legal audiences.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence without direct authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., LEED, GRI, CDP, SASB) a plus.
  • Experience with ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, and/or EcoVadis preferred.
  • Experience with GHG emissions tracking and reporting preferred and prior experience in a corporate or legal/compliance environment a plus.
  • LEED, GRI, CDP, SASB certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives to align with the enterprise strategy.
  • Track and analyze ESG data, prepares reports, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborates with the internal and external stakeholders to advance sustainable practices.
  • Manage and coordinate data gathering across the enterprise for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions calculations and coordinate the reporting thereof to any applicable consultant, designated portal or software platform, or directly to the applicable regulatory body.
  • Complete all ESG related questionnaires and surveys, including annual CDP and EcoVadis surveys, and all surveys or questionnaires submitted via an internal WRF.
