About The Position

Behavioral Initiatives is a family-owned company based in Pembroke Pines, FL, with a mission to provide high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to improve the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and behavioral challenges. Our new Microschool is a dynamic, inclusive, and therapeutic learning environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We focus on small class sizes, individualized instruction, and strong collaboration among educators, therapists, and families. We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Teacher’s Aide to support the Lead Teacher in our microschool classroom. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Calm, patient, and dependable with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Commitment to a minimum of one year in this role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (preferred)
  • Some college coursework in education, psychology, or a related field is a plus
  • Experience in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) is a plus
  • RBT certification a plus
  • Training and certification support available for candidates not yet certified

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Teacher in managing a class of up to six students (ages 5–10) at a 3:1 student-to-staff ratio
  • Assist in delivering individualized and group instruction
  • Implement behavior support strategies under the guidance of BCBAs and RBTs
  • Facilitate transitions, classroom routines, and activities of daily living
  • Help collect data on academic and behavioral progress
  • Contribute to a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
