About The Position

The Escrow Specialist helps protect members, the credit union, and loan portfolios by ensuring tax and insurance obligations are accurate, timely, and compliant. This role reduces risk, resolves complex escrow issues, and creates a smoother servicing experience for borrowers and internal partners.

Requirements

2 years of experience in mortgage loan servicing
General knowledge of all areas of mortgage lending policies, guidelines, terminology, and procedures
Calculator and general office equipment skills
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Superior customer service skills, ability to communicate complicated escrow issues to internal and external customers
Ability to prioritize to meet daily deadlines
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
High school diploma or equivalent
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

2 years of experience managing escrow accounts, including automated billing and tax and insurance payment processing
Ability to type 40 wpm

Responsibilities

Ensure escrow tax and insurance records are accurately established and maintained in the servicing system.
Resolve tax, insurance, flood, and force-placed coverage issues by partnering with vendors, agents, taxing authorities, and internal teams.
Disburse escrow-related tax and insurance payments on time to help prevent delinquencies, coverage gaps, and member impact.
Analyze escrow accounts and process surplus notifications and disbursements in accordance with servicing requirements.
Verify vendor data, billing reports, payees, and documentation to support accurate escrow administration.
Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for internal and external escrow inquiries, providing research-based resolutions.
Support regulatory and BSA-related compliance by following required policies, procedures, training expectations, and red-flag awareness.
