About The Position

The Escort transports patients and patient-related items throughout the medical center safely and efficiently. The role is responsible for completing transports in a timely manner, keeping equipment clean, and interacting politely and professionally with patients, visitors, and medical center staff. The Escort works independently and as part of a team, often receiving direction by phone or pager. The schedule includes rotating work hours, days off, weekends, and holidays. The position requires standing and walking for most of the work schedule, frequently pushing or pulling up to 25 pounds and occasionally pushing or pulling 50–80 pounds. It also requires full use of both hands, repetitive foot motion, and trunk rotation, twisting, and reaching.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
Exceptional communication, telephone, and human relations skills for interacting with patients, guests, and staff.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt to unpredictable and stressful situations.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Ability to stand and walk for most of the work schedule; frequently push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally push or pull 50–80 pounds; use both hands fully; perform repetitive foot motion and trunk rotation, twisting, and reaching.
