About The Position
HouseSmart Construction is seeking a Transportation Associate II to work with CDL Drivers and the Transportation Supervisor to safely and effectively escort manufactured homes. This role involves escorting toters, assisting teams on the jobsite with setting homes, and gaining knowledge in both the Transportation and Installation of homes. This is a dynamic role with career opportunities within HouseSmart.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience escorting large loads.
- An Escort License.
- A DOT medical card.
- Minimal to no driving infractions, especially as it relates to speeding, following too closely, handheld device usage, etc.
- Ability to climb ladders, crawl underneath homes and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Positive attitude and a team player.
- Experience operating various machines and the ability to quickly learn new machines like our specialty equipment listed above a plus.

Responsibilities
- Consistently work to be as safe a driver as possible, helping ensure the safe and efficient delivery of customers' dream homes with our team daily.
- Assist leadership in thinking through best ways to move and set homes including finding best routes, maneuvering around set obstacles like telephone poles, etc.
- Quickly and safely assist with varies pieces site preparation for the home including trimming trees, moving obstacles for the home, communicating potential issues and brainstorming solutions, etc.
- Work to become an expert with jobsite equipment including the house tug, jadde, platypus, etc.
- Always be looking ahead, anticipating needs of the team and project, problem solving for the best solutions possible alongside the Transportation Supervisor or Hub leadership.
