About The Position
HouseSmart Construction is seeking a Transportation Associate II, available as a Part-Time or Full-Time position. This role involves working with CDL Drivers and the Transportation Supervisor to safely and effectively escort Clayton’s manufactured homes. The position starts and ends with safely escorting toters and includes assisting teams on the jobsite with properly setting homes. This is a dynamic role offering opportunities to gain knowledge and experience in both the Transportation and Installation aspects of home delivery, with significant career advancement potential within HouseSmart.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience escorting large loads.
- An Escort License.
- A DOT medical card.
- Minimal to no driving infractions, especially as it relates to speeding, following too closely, handheld device usage, etc.
- Ability to climb ladders, crawl underneath homes and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Positive attitude and a team player.
- Experience operating various machines and the ability to quickly learn new machines like our specialty equipment.

Responsibilities
- Consistently work to be as safe a driver as possible, helping ensure the safe and efficient delivery of customers' dream homes with our team daily.
- Assist leadership in thinking through best ways to move and set homes including finding best routes, maneuvering around set obstacles like telephone poles, etc.
- Quickly and safely assist with various pieces of site preparation for the home including trimming trees, moving obstacles for the home, communicating potential issues and brainstorming solutions, etc.
- Work to become an expert with jobsite equipment including the house tug, jadde, platypus, etc.
- Always be looking ahead, anticipating needs of the team and project, problem solving for the best solutions possible alongside the Transportation Supervisor or Hub leadership.
