ES/IIS Regional Engineering Manager

EnerMech•Houston, TX

About The Position

EnerMech is a specialist service company providing integrated solutions for complex energy projects across offshore and onshore asset lifecycles. The ES/IIS Regional Engineering Manager establishes, develops, and leads the Americas engineering function across Energy Solutions (ES) and Infrastructure & Industrial Solutions (IIS). The role implements the global engineering operating model while maintaining responsive regional delivery, and provides transformation leadership alongside long-term ownership of regional capability, standards adoption, engineering governance, and workforce development. The manager translates global standards, competency requirements, and approval levels into local practice; leads the assigned regional engineering team; coordinates capability across countries, service lines, and regional engineering leaders; and manages the regional technical authority process and access to appointed authorities. The role works with operations, project, commercial, regional leadership, HR, and global teams to align engineering resources with verified competence and delivery needs. Travel across the Americas and collaboration with global teams are required as needed.

Requirements

  • Normally 8–12+ years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 3 years in engineering leadership.
  • Relevant engineering degree, such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or Ocean Engineering, appropriate to the discipline, with demonstrated application.
  • Evidence of implementing standards and review processes, coordinating engineering resources, providing structured training or mentoring, and delivering across operations and project interfaces.
  • Advanced leadership, planning, and governance competency, with sufficient technical breadth to direct multidisciplinary ES/IIS support and recognize specialist limits.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the engineering transformation locally by establishing capability and workload baselines, assigning process owners, clarifying responsibilities, and deploying approved procedures, review gates, and readiness requirements.
  • Maintain a regional engineering delivery and capacity plan with operations, project, and commercial leaders; match work to verified competence, secure checking capacity, and escalate resource conflicts.
  • Embed engineering early in tendering, project planning, equipment preparation, mobilization, and field handovers to support realistic technical commitments and effective delivery interfaces.
  • Ensure preparation, independent checking, and approval responsibilities are explicit and recorded; route high-risk or specialist decisions to appointed Technical Authorities and escalate unresolved technical or schedule conflicts to the Global Engineering Director.
  • Lead adoption of controlled documentation, shared templates, verified calculation methods, and approved digital workflows; manage regional implementation of engineering process and tool improvements within the global strategy.
  • Implement the global competency framework and maintain regional training and development plans aligned with competency gaps and delivery needs; coordinate training, mentoring, and graduate rotations; develop multiskilling across relevant ES and IIS services; and support succession planning.
  • Coordinate regional recruitment and capability development with regional leadership and HR.
  • Coordinate with other Regional Engineering Managers to share visibility of capacity, competencies, and demand; agree cross-regional resource sharing, mobility, and development opportunities to respond to changing priorities and provide global delivery flexibility.
  • Align assignments with verified competence and regional commitments, promote common methods and reuse of technical lessons, and feed improvement proposals into the global framework.
  • Monitor engineering quality, schedule adherence, readiness, rework, review turnaround, and capability development; provide transparent regional delivery reports, risk escalation, and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Apply EnerMech and client quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements; ensure competent technical risk assessment, management of change, and closure of engineering assurance findings.
  • Sustain regional ownership through routine governance, standards-adoption checks, training compliance, and continuous improvement across onshore and offshore delivery.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to influence business strategy, develop long-term customer partnerships, and contribute to challenging energy and industrial projects.
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where commercial leadership is valued.
  • Professional development is encouraged.
