About The Position

The ERP Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the Company’s enterprise resource planning systems, with an immediate focus on Sage 300 and its supporting Microsoft SQL Server environment. This position serves as a technical resource for ERP administration, reporting, data analysis, system integrations, troubleshooting, and data integrity. In addition to supporting the Company’s current ERP environment, the ERP Systems Analyst will play a key role in preparing for and supporting the Company’s eventual transition to a modern ERP platform. Responsibilities will include data extraction and cleansing, data mapping, integration planning, migration support, testing, documentation, and coordination with ERP vendors and implementation partners. This position works closely with Accounting, Operations, Estimating, Project Management, Human Resources, IT, and other business functions to understand system requirements, resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure that enterprise systems effectively support the Company’s business needs. This position requires regular, full-time, in-person attendance at the Company’s Columbus, Ohio office. It is not eligible for remote or hybrid work. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Accounting Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Three (3) or more years of experience supporting ERP, financial, accounting, or enterprise business systems preferred.
Hands-on experience with Sage 300 strongly preferred.
Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and writing SQL queries required.
Experience with relational databases, database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
Experience developing or supporting reports using Crystal Reports, Sage Intelligence, Power BI, SQL-based reporting tools, or similar technologies.
Experience supporting integrations between ERP systems and third-party applications.
Experience with ETL, data conversion, data migration, or large-scale data transformation strongly preferred.
ERP implementation or ERP migration experience preferred.
Experience working with ERP vendors, consultants, or implementation partners preferred.
Must be able and willing to work 100% in person at the Company’s Columbus, Ohio office. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary technical resource for the Company’s Sage 300 ERP environment and related applications.
Support Sage 300 modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Inventory Control (IC), and other modules utilized by the Company.
Maintain a strong working understanding of the Microsoft SQL Server databases supporting Sage 300 and related business applications.
Write, review, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and other database objects used for reporting, integrations, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
Monitor and improve database performance through appropriate indexing, query optimization, database maintenance, and performance troubleshooting.
Investigate and resolve ERP-related issues involving application functionality, data, database performance, interfaces, reports, and user workflows.
Assist with maintaining appropriate ERP security, user access, roles, permissions, and system controls.
Maintain accurate documentation of ERP configurations, customizations, integrations, databases, reports, interfaces, and business processes.
Coordinate with software vendors and third-party support providers to diagnose and resolve system issues.
Develop, maintain, and improve financial, operational, and management reports using tools such as Crystal Reports, Sage Intelligence, Power BI, SQL, and other reporting technologies.
Work directly with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate those requirements into accurate and useful reports, dashboards, queries, and data sets.
Validate reporting logic and reconcile report results to source ERP data.
Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and data-processing activities.
Support the development of consistent data definitions, reporting standards, and data governance practices.
Assist business users with understanding ERP data structures and determining the appropriate sources of information for reporting and analysis.
Support, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Sage 300 and other Company systems.
Maintain existing integrations such as EDI feeds, CRM connections, e-commerce interfaces, financial applications, operational systems, and other third-party platforms.
Analyze data flows between systems and troubleshoot failed, incomplete, duplicated, or inaccurate transactions.
Document system interfaces, source and destination fields, transformation logic, dependencies, schedules, and exception-handling processes.
Work with internal IT resources and third-party vendors to improve the reliability and maintainability of existing integrations.
Identify legacy customizations or integrations that may create operational risk or affect future ERP migration efforts.
Support the Company’s preparation for a future ERP replacement or modernization initiative.
Extract large volumes of historical data from Sage 300, SQL Server, legacy databases, spreadsheets, and other business systems.
Clean, normalize, validate, deduplicate, and transform data in preparation for migration.
Develop repeatable ETL processes to move data into flat files, staging databases, integration platforms, or other migration environments.
Analyze legacy ERP tables, relationships, fields, and business rules to understand how historical information is stored and used.
Develop and maintain data mappings between legacy ERP structures and future ERP data models.
Work with business stakeholders to establish data-retention requirements and determine which historical information should be migrated, archived, transformed, or retired.
Perform reconciliation and validation activities to confirm that migrated data is complete and accurate.
Assist with migration rehearsals, mock conversions, cutover planning, production conversion, and post-migration validation.
Assist with developing integration requirements and technical specifications for future systems.
Support cloud-based ERP applications and related data platforms as the Company modernizes its technology environment.
Evaluate existing integrations and recommend whether they should be retained, redesigned, replaced, or eliminated as part of future ERP initiatives.
Assist with establishing scalable integration and data-management practices that reduce dependence on one-off custom solutions.
Serve as an internal technical liaison between the Company, ERP software vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
Provide implementation partners with accurate information regarding current systems, database structures, integrations, reports, business processes, customizations, and historical data.
Participate in requirements-gathering sessions, system-design discussions, data-conversion workshops, integration meetings, testing activities, and implementation planning.
Review technical recommendations from vendors and implementation partners and help evaluate their impact on existing Company systems and processes.
Track technical issues, dependencies, risks, decisions, and outstanding implementation items.
Assist with system configuration, testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, cutover activities, and post-go-live support.
Help ensure knowledge developed by implementation partners is appropriately documented and transferred to internal Company resources.
Meet with employees, managers, and department leaders to understand business processes, system requirements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements, data requirements, system changes, reports, integrations, or projects.
Analyze current-state processes and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, accuracy, and system utilization.
Evaluate ERP-related requests based on business impact, technical complexity, dependencies, and long-term system strategy.
Develop clear process, system, data-flow, interface, and technical documentation.
Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Learn and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
