About The Position

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Specialist is responsible for the administration, support, maintenance, configuration, and continuous improvement of the Town's enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment, with primary responsibility for Tyler Technologies Munis and related technical applications. Serves as the primary technical point of contact for Munis system administration to departments by supporting system functionality, security, data integrity, workflows, reporting, integrations, testing, upgrades, and end-user support. Works collaboratively with departments, Information Technology, vendors, and other stakeholders to identify business needs, resolve system issues, improve processes, and maximize the effective use of the Town's ERP environment. Departments retain ownership of their business processes and requirements; the ERP Specialist is responsible for the technical administration and system support necessary to effectively support those operations. Work is performed under limited supervision. The ERP Specialist duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Level is dependent on employee meeting experience requirements. ERP Administration. Administers and supports Tyler Munis and related enterprise applications, including system configuration, maintenance, workflows, security, and user access. Troubleshoots system issues, coordinates vendor support, and ensures timely resolution of ERP-related problems. Serves as a liaison with Tyler Technologies and other vendors and coordinates support requests and system enhancements. System Support: Implementation, Testing & Integration. Supports system upgrades, patches, enhancements, integrations, testing, and implementations. Coordinates user acceptance testing and documents system changes and results. Assists with data conversion, system implementation, and stabilization activities. Business Systems & Process Improvement. Works with departments to understand business needs and identify appropriate ERP solutions and process improvements. Evaluates opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, consistency, and use of existing system functionality. Supports the alignment of ERP capabilities with Town operations while maintaining appropriate departmental ownership of business processes. Data, Reporting & System Integrity. Supports data integrity, validation, reporting, queries, and information management. Develops and maintains reports, forms, workflows, and other system functionality based on established business requirements. Identifies and addresses data quality issues and supports accurate, reliable, and secure information. Security, Training & User Support. Creates and maintains user accounts, permissions, and security controls in accordance with Town policies. Supports ERP security, access controls, confidentiality, and appropriate segregation of duties. Provides technical assistance, training, documentation, and guidance to ERP users. Supports business continuity, recovery, and system resiliency activities in coordination with Information Technology. Additional Duties: Maintains current knowledge of Tyler Munis functionality, ERP best practices, and applicable technology. Provides support to the IT Department on related systems, projects, and initiatives as assigned by the Director of IT.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of working knowledge and experience with local government ERP applications, preferably Tyler Munis (for Level I).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of working knowledge and experience with local government and with Tyler Munis ERP applications (for Senior Level).
  • Valid Virginia (VA) Driver’s License Required or Obtain and Maintain, as applicable - Must have upon hire. If relocating to VA, a valid VA drivers’ license is required to be obtained within one (1) year from date of hire.
  • Knowledge of administering enterprise systems or ERP platforms.
  • Experience supporting Tyler Munis in a municipal or public sector environment.
  • Experience with database systems and data management concepts.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application security, user role management, and access controls.
  • Ability to manage system security and safeguard sensitive and confidential data.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, members of the general public, employees, Town Officials and others involved in performance of job duties.
  • Ability to assemble reports in a concise, clear and effective manner.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and work with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to operate a computer, and other office equipment needed to perform job duties, proficiency in various software, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS, or related field (preferred for both levels).
