About The Position

The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking to hire qualified candidates for the position of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Manager of Production Support. This role involves implementing policy for incident management support across all functional areas, technical development, and testing, as well as managing the change release process. The position will develop and implement methods to monitor progress towards goals and objectives of the Production Support aspects of the ERP Program. Responsibilities include analyzing incident data, evaluating trends, ensuring staff adherence to functional design objectives, serving as a full-line supervisor, collaborating with other ERP Program team members, acting as the primary point of contact for Production Support, and serving as a member of the Executive ERP Program Team.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in business or public administration.
  • Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in change management or a closely related field.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience supervising or leading a team of professionals in a large and complex organization.
  • Requires the ability to verify identity.
  • Requires employment authorization to accept permanent full-time position with State of Illinois.
  • Requires the ability to pass a position- specific, agency required background check and requires self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Requires ability to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, short notice, evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • Requires an appropriate, valid driver’s license and the ability to travel in performance of duties with occasional overnight stays.
  • Requires the ability to use agency supplied equipment such as laptop, personal computer, work cell phone, etc.
  • Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Requires adherence to the revolving door restrictions outlined in 5 ILCS 430/5-45.
  • Requires compliance with the provisions outlined in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in production support with demonstrated experience of managing change control or change release management processes, including adherence to standardized system change management or release policies, preferably in a large-scale ERP environment.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience with demonstrated knowledge of IT incident and service management systems in a large-scale technology solution.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience interpreting and implementing multi-jurisdictional policies and procedures.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience participating in annual audit activities, including providing samples and details to support proper adherence to audit requirements.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience building consensus and maintaining collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, including executive sponsors, cross-functional teams, project managers, and vendor partners.
  • Extensive knowledge of technology impacts on business processes and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess complex situations, identify potential challenges, formulate effective solutions, and resolve sensitive problems.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver clear, effective presentations, supported by strong verbal and written communication skills that translate complex technical or policy issues into clear, actionable guidance for varied audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities, ensure high-quality deliverables, and achieve enterprise-wide objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Manager of Production Support for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), implementing audit and internal policies as well as wholly managing, administering, and enforcing the Change Control and Change Release processes, including maintenance of tracking tools and monitoring change requests through the processes and to release.
  • Analyzes data of incidents reported, evaluates trends, and ensures production support staff are adhering to the functional design objectives and that all incident management practices are consistently applied and follow prescribed audit and procedure guidelines.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for Production Support of the ERP Program and serves on the ERP Program Executive Team.
  • Supervises contractual staff.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
