ERP Implementation Leader

Heritage Holding•Boston, MA

About The Position

Heritage-Holding is hiring a central ERP Implementation Leader to own and drive ERP implementations across its portfolio of companies. This role will serve as a shared, go-to resource responsible for bringing a repeatable playbook to every rollout, including scoping the work, running the project, managing outside implementation partners, and ensuring each system delivers cleaner financials and better reporting. This is a hands-on, finance-led role focused on clean books, reliable reporting, and scalable systems, rather than technology for its own sake. The position can be filled as a full-time hire or a fractional engagement (~20 hours/week).

Requirements

  • 4–7+ years leading ERP implementations — you've done this a dozen times, not once or twice. Leading (or being very close to leading) prior implementations is essential; this is not a role for a recent grad.
  • Strong accounting/finance background — you understand the general ledger, close process, and financial reporting, and you bridge the gap between finance and technology fluently.
  • Hands-on experience with common mid-market ERP and accounting platforms — NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, and similar systems.
  • Track record of managing external implementation partners and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills; comfortable operating as the single accountable owner across several companies at once.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a multi-entity, portfolio, PE-backed, or public-accounting environment is a strong plus — candidates coming out of accounting/advisory firms are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central ERP resource across the portfolio, running multiple implementations and upgrades — often in parallel — from planning through go-live and stabilization.
  • Own project management end to end: scope, timelines, budgets, resourcing, risk, and stakeholder communication with company CFOs, controllers, and leadership.
  • Select and manage external implementation partners and vendors — hold them accountable, challenge them where needed, and keep projects on scope and on budget.
  • Right-size each project: advise which companies need a full ERP implementation versus a targeted upgrade or clean-up, based on their size and maturity.
  • Standardize a repeatable implementation approach, tooling, and best practices that can be reused across the portfolio.
  • Partner closely with finance/accounting teams to translate their needs into system requirements and ensure a smooth transition off legacy systems.
  • Report directly to senior leadership (Josh / Al) on progress, risks, and outcomes across the portfolio.
