About The Position

UW Medicine Enterprise Revenue Cycle (ERC) is seeking an ERC Intelligent Automation Business Analyst to join their team. This role will focus on exploring and evaluating automation and AI solutions, such as Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and other emerging technologies to improve revenue cycle functions. The position is 100% remote but requires on-site presence as needed. The analyst will collaborate with ERC leadership and IT Services to identify opportunities, re-engineer processes, and translate business needs into technical requirements for automation solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-care oriented profession, a business-related field, or other disciplines that demonstrate analytical or communications abilities.
  • 4+ years recent healthcare/IT experience.
  • 2+ years of healthcare revenue cycle process improvement and/or automation/AI delivery experience.

  • Experience with Epic, working with Revenue Cycle modules.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the following technologies: Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Generative AI (GenAI), Agentic AI, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
  • Experience in performing cost versus benefit analysis and return on investment tracking.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating discussion to clarify and document business requirements for a technical solution.
  • Familiarity with process optimization approaches such as, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Business Process Reengineering (BPR).
  • Experience with UAT and Go-Live/Hypercare support.
  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially in Excel, Word, and Visio.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ERC leadership to identify automation and AI opportunities to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, increase productivity, accelerate processing, or improve the patient and/or employee experience.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ERC automation/AI requests, reviewing and triaging requests in partnership with ITS Automation Solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process re-engineering, optimization, and/or standardization prior to automation.
  • For automation/AI solutions approved for build, lead and facilitate workflow reviews and business requirements analysis.
  • Translate complex Revenue Cycle processes into clear requirements that can be understood and implemented by the developer.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable development specifications.
  • Facilitate stakeholders' review of solution design/prototyping sessions to ensure alignment with business processes and requirements.
  • Develop specific solution UAT approach/plan, criteria, and scenarios.
  • Coordinate Go-Live readiness activities with Program Manager to deploy solutions.
  • Maintain program knowledge base with each deployment.
