About The Position

This position is located at Fruitdale Elementary School. The role involves working with an ERC team of assistants and special needs students. The assistant will need to understand age-appropriate behavioral issues and be able to work one-on-one or in small groups. The job requires the ability to discipline with dignity, take initiative, and be self-directed. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting on the floor, and the ability to physically lift, move, or restrain a student on a regular basis. The position requires the individual to qualify or meet the standard for a highly qualified para-professional. Bilingual and biliterate candidates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Two (2) years of college coursework or Associate’s Degree (may be waived pending successful performance on skills test administered by the District)
Person filling this position will have to be fingerprinted
Must qualify or be able to meet standard for highly qualified para-professional
