About The Position

The ER Tech may function as a patient care assistant and/or unit secretary at any given time. The role supports nursing staff and patient care under the direction and guidance of licensed staff and leaders. It also coordinates clerical activities for the unit and staff in collaboration with patients, hospital departments, physicians, and other customers. As unit secretary, the ER Tech serves as the focal point of communication on the nursing unit.

Requirements

• Current Patient Care Assistant (PCA) certification or Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A.) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to nursing staff and patient care under the direction and guidance of licensed staff and leaders.
• Function as a patient care assistant and/or unit secretary as needed.
• Coordinate clerical activities for the unit and staff with patients, hospital departments, physicians, and other customers.
• Serve as the focal point of communication on the nursing unit when functioning as unit secretary.
