The ER RN works in a small critical access hospital without separate units, where nurses cover the emergency, acute, and long-term care (LTC) areas. When assigned to the ER and there are no patients, the RN provides backup in the acute and LTC areas. When assigned to medications, the RN passes medications and performs procedures for LTC and acute patients. The facility is not latex-free. The schedule consists of six 12-hour shifts in a two-week period (72 hours total), with every third weekend off. Holiday coverage is required. Travelers who do not already hold an active Hawaii state license must apply after accepting an offer and must have a Hawaii license by the start of the assignment.
