The ER Registrar is responsible for ensuring each patient is identified correctly in the system, completing the pre-admission and registration process for patients presenting to the Emergency Center, explaining forms and obtaining signatures, and explaining basic insurance information. This role also involves requesting deposits, referring patients to Financial Navigators, meeting performance goals for POSC, MSPQ, and accuracy, obtaining necessary signatures for Medicare patients, processing payments, and providing switchboard coverage. Additionally, the ER Registrar monitors alarm panels, announces codes, assists with training new associates, scans required documents, obtains patient photos, and assists with special projects.
