About The Position

Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database. They also enter information from other facilities, which include specimens, etc. Ensures patient demographics, insurance coverage, and authorizations requirements are collected to the best of his or her ability based on patient condition. Responsible for providing patients or representatives with information about billing, complaint process, patient rights and responsibilities and visiting hours. Distributes hospital specific literature in a timely and correct manner. Being familiar with hospital services available with regard to payment arrangements, such as referring patient to correct employee at business office when payment arrangements are necessary. Helping in starting the financial analysis procedure, along with system notations when necessary. Responsible for collecting payments for self-pay patients and copays from patients with insurance. Explains consent forms, privacy notices, and registration documents to patients during the registration process. Resolves registration issues and insurance issues in a timely manner. Maintains accurate records and documentation. Coordinates with clinical staff, physicians’ offices, insurance companies, and other pertinent staff when needed.

  • Completes annual educational requirements within the assigned time frame.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and Joint Commission regulations related to their department and, as appropriate, to the hospital.
