About The Position
EHC Prescott is hiring an experienced Emergency Room Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care at its Prescott hospital. The nurse works with initiative, flexibility, and sound judgment, with minimal supervision, and triages every patient safely, rapidly, and accurately. The role is on 12-hour day shifts, with weekend and holiday rotation. The department is an established, close-knit team with leadership, comfortable patient ratios, and support from Med Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, and an in-house Respiratory Therapist. Cross-training and a path to clinical leadership are available.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- At least 2 years of ER experience.
- Active Arizona or compact RN license.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- EMR proficiency.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Set priorities of care based on patient needs and patient flow.
- Triage every patient accurately and assign triage categories.
- Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments for patients of all ages.
- Communicate with ED physicians about changes in status, symptoms, and diagnostic results.
- Respond quickly to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and identify dysrhythmias through cardiac monitoring.
- Assess and manage pain, and educate patients and families.
- Perform and interpret point-of-care testing and act on results.
- Administer medications correctly based on patient age and condition.
- Maintain accurate, ongoing nursing documentation.
- Involve patients and families in the plan of care.
- Keep the department safe, stocked, and running efficiently.
