The Emergency Room EMT Technician assists with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities in the Emergency room. Successful candidate must be certified as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic to work in this role. The Emergency Room EMT Technician Assists with activities of daily living, comfort care and nutritional support under supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or Registered Nurse, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing delegation and supervision guidelines, May perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures as directed. P rovides patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure. Maintains a clean safe environment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and data collection as pertinent to the patient population. Transports patients in hospital observing safety guidelines. Maintains advanced transport medical knowledge and abilities. Interacts with physicians, patients, families, staff members and community.
