ER Care Center Technician

About The Position
This role involves performing various monitoring and patient care tasks within the Emergency Room. Responsibilities include conducting routine EKGs, applying Holter Monitors and B/P monitors, participating in Code Blue events, and other monitoring duties. The technician will also be responsible for inserting Foley catheters using sterile techniques, collecting specimens via venipuncture, and assisting patients with self-care to promote independence within their limitations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician preferred
- CNA or EMT license preferred
Responsibilities
- Performing routine EKGs, Holter Monitor applications, B/P monitor applications, Code Blue functions, and other monitoring situations of the Emergency Room
- Insertion of Foley catheters using the sterilization technique
- Collecting specimens using venipuncture techniques
- Assist in teaching patients self-care
- Encouraging patients to achieve independence within their limitations
