Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is a non-profit healthcare system serving 10 counties in northeastern South Dakota and west-central Minnesota. This PRN( fill-in or as needed) position will assist professional nursing staff and Emergency Physicians by performing direct and indirect patient care as delegated by the RN or Physician.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Must be adept at communicating from age neonate through geriatric years of age.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect care to patients.
- Performs secretarial duties: answering phones, placing calls, order entry, logging patient information, and obtaining old records.
- Assists with cleaning patient treatment areas.
- Restocks and orders supplies for patient treatment areas, kitchenettes, nursing station, and supply carts.
- Cleans instruments and utensils and delivers to sterile processing department.
- Observes and reports changes in patient's physical and emotional condition.
- Transports patients to appropriate areas.
- Keeps patient treatment areas, kitchenette, storage areas, and nursing station in order.
- Other duties may be assigned.
