About The Position

The Equity Research VP - Aerospace & Defense position involves publishing proprietary equity research in industries aligned to the firm's Banking sectors, demonstrating expertise in the sector. The role requires creating and publishing proprietary equity research content with stock recommendations to institutional buy-side clients, conducting due diligence, providing industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions, and initiating C-suite corporate access resources. The position also involves conducting independent industry assessments, company-specific research reports, and engaging with corporate client relationships at the C-level. Level-specific duties include developing seasoned expertise, potentially publishing written research and strategy reports, assisting in generating research ideas, accumulating client votes for revenue generation, and potentially supervising junior staff.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • Licenses Required: the SIE and the 7 Top Off (or Series 7 for those licensed prior to October 2019), Series 63, Series 87 and either the Series 86 or a FINRA waiver for those who have completed CFA II.
  • Has some experience in due diligence execution related to capital markets transactions.
  • In-depth knowledge and domain expertise of industry sector.
  • Advanced skills in financial analysis, sales presentations, and client relationship management.
  • Superior oral and written communication ability.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and publishing proprietary equity research content in designated industry with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) to institutional buy-side clients.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions.
  • Responsible for initiating C-suite corporate access resources to institutional equity clients including non-deal roadshows, conferences, field trips, bus tours, and conference calls.
  • Conduct independent industry assessments and company-specific research reports.
  • Involvement with corporate client relationships at the highest C- Level (CEO, President, COO, CFO, Director of Strategy, etc).
  • Develops seasoned and proven expertise in designated research sector.
  • May publish written research and strategy reports to drive revenue production.
  • Assists in the generation of research ideas and strategies for new research reports.
  • Accumulate client votes from institutional clientele which are critical revenue drivers for the STRH platform.
  • Conducts critical due diligence execution in capital markets transactions and provides unique industry expertise.
  • Active involvement in initiating C-suite corporate access resources to institutional equity clients including non-deal roadshows, conferences, field trips, bus tours, and conference calls.
  • May supervise junior staff (i.e., Analysts, Interns, and Associates) by assigning and overseeing their day-to-day work.
  • Follows all risk related practices and policies, and may guide junior staff in risk initiatives.
