About The Position

Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) delivers independent, data-driven research and interactive datasets through the Bloomberg Terminal to help investment professionals make decisions. BI has more than 500 research professionals covering 135+ industries and 2,000+ companies across major global markets. Its research combines analyst expertise, interactive data, proprietary models, emerging technologies including AI, and data from Bloomberg sources and more than 600 contributors. The Associate Analyst will support Bloomberg Intelligence’s Semiconductors research franchise, focusing on financial modeling, insight generation, writing, and investment research for semiconductor companies including Nvidia, AMD, Broadcom, and other peers. The role uses company financial data, industry-leading data, Bloomberg datasets, financial models, and information from issuer calls and announcements. The associate contributes to daily research, analyzes company developments and industry themes, reviews research for quality, develops internal and external relationships, supports Terminal content and functionality, interacts with clients through online messaging, and applies AI and automation to improve research workflows.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; a focus or concentration in Finance or a related degree is preferred.
Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
At least two years of financial market research or industry-specific subject matter experience, with demonstrable research and analytical skills.
Proficient knowledge of the Technology sector.
Deep understanding of advanced finance and accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
Solid experience performing quantitative financial analysis, with knowledge of companies, industries, financial statement analysis, and modeling.
Ability to identify anomalies in financial data, think critically about what the data indicates, and recognize inconsistencies.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Curiosity and attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, solve problems logically, and set priorities.
Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
Commitment to enhancing and developing products.
Ability and willingness to adopt new technologies, including generative AI and automation, to build repeatable workflows, improve research efficiency and quality, and support data-driven analysis.

Nice To Haves

CFA designation, MBA degree, and/or graduate educational experience.
Experience using Python and/or visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal.

Responsibilities

Contribute to daily team research activities, including data aggregation, financial modeling, written research, and idea generation.
Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting industries.
Perform significant data analysis and modeling; synthesize results, draw conclusions, and develop concise narratives explaining the data.
Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal Bloomberg departments and external company, industry, and data professionals; participate in department-wide special projects.
Work with data and core business groups to develop and enhance Bloomberg Terminal content and functionality.
Interact with clients through online messaging systems.
Use generative AI, machine learning tools, and automation to improve research workflows, data discovery, modeling, and content development.
