Markets provides solutions to clients with the means to manage their exposure through various derivatives, lending and cash products across Structured Products Group, Rates, Equities, Foreign Exchange, Municipal Products Group, Credit Sales & Trading. Wells Fargo is seeking an Equity Research Associate for the Auto & Auto Parts sector in Corporate & Investment Banking as part of Markets.

Requirements

2+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Registration for FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Registration for FINRA Series 86 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Registration for FINRA Series 87 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire.
Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired.

Nice To Haves

A BS/BA or higher
Direct experience in the Autos and Auto Parts sector or prior equity research coverage of this industry
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis
Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application

Responsibilities

Demonstrate subject matter knowledge within the Auto and Auto Parts sector and a strong understanding of the companies within the sector
Conduct rigorous analysis of financial statements and industry, company, and market data sets
Create and update financial models and databases
Author, with Senior Analyst, differentiated research content on companies and industry themes
Attend company and industry events; cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts
Communicate research conclusions to internal and external constituents
Collaborate with research peers to support the generation of cross-sector research content
Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
