About The Position

As part of the Shared Health Workforce team, the Wellbeing Centre of Expertise will develop, implement and evaluate a multi-year “made in Manitoba” provincial workplace wellbeing strategy to instill a holistic culture of wellbeing, psychological safety, belonging, equity, and meaningful connection through six inter- dependent pillars: People First, Instill Belonging, Foster Purpose & Growth, Inspiring Leaders & Inspired Teams, Intentional Organizational Action, and Organizational Sustainability. Equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism is foundational to the core pillar of Belonging within the Wellbeing Centre of Expertise (CoE). The Wellbeing CoE has a strategic commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism and is committed to advancing this work through systemic cultural change at all levels within Manitoba’s healthcare workforce to foster a diverse and inclusive environment. Reporting to the Executive Director, Provincial Wellbeing, the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Racism (EDI-A) Leader, will play a pivotal role in advancing our commitment to eradicate racism and promote an equitable, inclusive, and safe culture, free from discrimination for all of Manitoba’s healthcare workforce. Through educational and capacity-building initiatives across Manitoba’s provincial healthcare workforce, the EDI-A Leader addresses the bases of marginalization to promote belonging by working collaboratively with the Manager of Provincial Wellbeing, Indigenous Health, and Service Delivery Organizations to transform the workplace experience. The EDI-A Leader will serve as a role model, change agent, and subject matter expert, and will work collaboratively across the healthcare system to offer their guidance and expertise on strategic projects, initiatives, policies, and processes that will embed intersectional, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and anti-discriminatory practices in supporting a culture of belonging, respect, and wellbeing for all healthcare workers. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to creating inclusive spaces for everyone and uplifting people within equity deserving groups. The EDI-A Leader is accountable for ensuring the strategic execution of the EDI-A portfolio through direct and indirect influence within Shared Health and across Service Delivery Organizations. The EDI-A Lead will work closely and collaboratively with members of the provincial Indigenous Health team, HR, Union Partners, Service Delivery Organizations, Shared Health, Manitoba Health, equity- deserving community groups, and other health providers and community organizations.
