About The Position

The Equity AVP - Restaurants produces and delivers differentiated equity research, market insights, and actionable investment ideas to Barclays clients. The role collaborates with the Senior Analyst to create research reports and presentations, while monitoring market trends, economic indicators, and company news to update and refine investment solutions. It also communicates research findings and strategic recommendations to institutional clients and provides research insights to internal clients. The position involves analyzing market, sector, corporate, and economic data; developing investment theses; and producing work ranging from company and sector notes to long-term thematic reports. The role engages with Markets, Client Strategy, the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of research and ensure it is produced and delivered compliantly. It is based in New York, NY, and is regulated by FINRA.

Requirements

Ability to conduct detailed company analysis and valuation.
Proficiency in financial modeling and interpreting highly detailed financial statements.
Related sector experience.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively convey research investment recommendations to clients.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with financial software and databases such as Bloomberg, and advanced Excel.
Experience building and maintaining relationships with institutional clients.
Ability to lead projects and mentor junior analysts.
FINRA licenses: SIE, S63, S86, and S87.
CFA designation or currently pursuing the designation.

Responsibilities

Analyze market, sector, corporate, and economic data to develop investment theses for the coverage universe.
Produce research, including company and sector notes and longer-term thematic reports.
Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and company news to update and refine investment solutions.
Present research views and findings to Barclays clients through direct, virtual, event-based, and written communications.
Engage with institutional clients and provide strategic recommendations.
Collaborate with Markets, Client Strategy, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of research with clients and internally.
Provide insights and research views to internal clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks.
Work with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure research is produced and delivered compliantly.
Manage risk and strengthen controls related to the work.
For an individual contributor, lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, and identify additional expertise or approaches needed to achieve outcomes.
