About The Position

The Equity & Workforce Strategist oversees the onboarding and foundational training of new direct service staff and supports the ongoing growth and development of current employees through training coordination, curriculum development, and internally developed learning initiatives. This role also supports recruitment processes, workforce engagement, and organizational practices that promote inclusion, belonging, and staff success. The Equity & Workforce Strategist works in partnership with the People and Culture Director to support agency-wide initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, staff development, and organizational culture. This role supports the creation, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of systems that advance PWI’s JEDI Vision and Mission while strengthening workforce development practices across the agency. As a member of the PWI leadership team, the Equity & Workforce Strategist contributes to the continued growth, learning, and development of PWI as an organization.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of and commitment to the mission, values, and relational culture of Parenting With Intent (PWI)
  • Knowledge of and ability to collaborate across PWI programs, including YES and Family Services
  • Experience supporting or leading JEDI initiatives, equity-centered practices, and systems development
  • Strong understanding of how systems of oppression impact individuals and communities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, innovate, and improve organizational systems and practices
  • Strong organizational, tracking, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through to completion
  • Experience with project coordination and project management across teams and agency initiatives
  • Knowledge of standard practices in recruitment, selection, and structured onboarding, paired with a strong grasp of adult learning theories to create inclusive, engaging training curricula.
  • Competency with agency technology platforms and systems (Google Workspace, Trello, GNSA, Grouptrail, intranet, etc.)
  • Strong facilitation, coordination, and cross-team collaboration skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information across diverse learning styles and audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and grow within an evolving agency environment
  • Commitment to authentic relationships with staff, partners, and community members

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement the recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new PWI Direct Service staff.
  • Update and maintain PWI onboarding procedures and track new staff completion of onboarding.
  • Conduct employment eligibility checks such as DMV background checks, Orchards DHS background checks, vehicle insurance and vehicle inspections etc.
  • Track status of required background checks and required training for all PWI Staff.
  • Coordinate the development and management of our ongoing training curriculum
  • Understand gaps in learning and assess the evolving needs of direct service staff in order to identify needs for training
  • Attend all required leadership and agency meetings
  • Serve as JEDI Committee as Co-chair
  • Collaborate with People and Culture Director in the coordination of Cultural Celebrations
  • Assist in sourcing and coordinating trainings related to JEDI
  • Assist in ensuring that PWI continues to be at the forefront of best practices regarding JEDI
  • Attend trainings relevant to JEDI and organizational development around JEDI practices
  • Assist in maintaining important community partnerships that assist PWI in promoting our JEDI Vision
  • Facilitate BIPOC Affinity Group and collaborate with People and Culture Director on creation, implementation and support of Affinity Groups
  • Will assist in regular evaluation of Internal and External PWI metrics to support our work toward our JEDI Vision
  • Will support the capture and implementation of important data points related to our JEDI Mission and Vision
  • Other responsibilities as needed that arise as the role grows and develops
