We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients! We are seeking an Equipment Technologist who will be responsible for fabricating equipment, assisting in equipment troubleshooting and repairing equipment used in the production of medical devices. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485) and internal quality systems by maintaining accurate records and ensuring equipment operates within specified tolerances. Please note, this opportunity is an onsite work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing, or machine shop work
  • Hands on craftsperson with an eye for detail and precision
  • Strong diagnostic and critical thinking skills
  • Experience using the following equipment: Manual lathes and mills, laser welders, laser cutters, drills, taps, sheers, grinders
  • Experience with CAD software, ideally Solidworks
  • Excellent organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills
  • Flexible and able to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate
  • Technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment such as ISO13485 or AS9100
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment
  • Experience writing technical procedures and reports
  • Experience with computer aided manufacturing (CAD CAM)

Responsibilities

  • Source, machine, assemble, and install equipment in both manufacturing and the training center.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair activities on production equipment.
  • Identify process and equipment improvement opportunities and assist with their implementation.
  • Assist with changes to manufacturing infrastructure, including designing and fabricating fixtures
  • Coordinating the fabrication of spare equipment and custom spare parts with the equipment management teams.
  • Support the development of equipment fabrication instructions.
  • Collaborate with Engineers to maintain optimal part inventory levels supporting both Production operations and the Training Center.
  • Train and mentor peers on tooling fabrication best practices, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to established procedures.
  • Support Engineers with new equipment introduction, contributing to the development of robust, sustainable, and scalable technical solutions.
