Equipment Technician, College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
About The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean, the Equipment Technician provides skilled repair of minor equipment, maintenance, and minor modification of standard and specialty laboratory equipment for the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry (80%) and other science and engineering departments (20%) within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The role involves maintaining equipment to support laboratory courses and collaborating with faculty to develop instructional and advanced protocols for instrumentation use. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that can lead to permanent status after a probationary period.
Requirements
- Electro Mechanical skills.
- Ability to work in person on campus.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled repair of minor equipment.
- Perform maintenance and minor modification of standard and specialty laboratory equipment.
- Support laboratory courses by maintaining equipment.
- Work with faculty to develop instructional and advanced protocols for the use of instrumentation.
