About The Position

The Equipment Technician is responsible for ensuring that the production and factory support equipment is maintained in consistent, reliable condition. This includes performing preventative and corrective maintenance, light custodial duties, modifications, and repairs. The role also involves basic trades such as electrical, mechanical, and plumbing. Additionally, the technician will provide manufacturing engineering support to R&D engineers. Daily tasks include completing facility checklists, responding to work orders, and filling out forms for corrective maintenance. The position requires utilizing applications and software for equipment maintenance, AC control, work order monitoring, purchasing parts, entering safety information, tracking chemical usage, training, document retrieval, and spare parts management. Specific equipment maintenance includes wet processing equipment, ultrasonic generators, chemical delivery systems, vacuum dryers, pneumatic assembly and disassembly fixtures, and warehouse equipment like bay doors, pallet wrappers, boxing machines, and label makers. Support for new equipment installations involves unloading trucks, moving equipment, and piping work. The role also entails maintaining the Preventative Maintenance System through accurate logs and written records. Preventative maintenance extends to factory support equipment including HVAC systems and controls, hot and cold water distribution systems, air compressors, electrical rooms, loading docks, forklifts, and high-pressure washers. Handling chemicals as needed to support operations and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment are also part of the duties. The technician will work independently or in teams, communicating effectively across all levels of the organization. Assistance will be provided to cross-functional teams, including safety, lean manufacturing, lab technicians, quality, engineering, and operations. Support may also be required at other sites during call-outs, vacations, or for special events requiring additional manpower.

Requirements

  • 3+ years related manufacturing experience
  • High school Diploma or GED

  • Understanding of the general principles of electrical/mechanical applications
  • Ability to work in multiple programs such as outlook, Excel, Preventative Maintenance s/w, energy management, and Work Order management systems.
