About The Position

The Equipment Technician is expected to assist with and perform inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance on a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment to the highest degree of dependability and performance, with the emphasis on precise quality of cut. This is a casual part-time position. Hours vary between 6:00am - 3:00pm.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years in a similar position required.
  • Previous training in welding and fabrication.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Must have good mechanical ability.
  • Possess a full set of mechanical repair tools for daily use on the job.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to be part of an engaged team.
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driving standards.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs and maintains all pieces of motorized golf course and landscape equipment to the highest degree of dependability and performance (including tractors, trucks, sweepers, rollers, mowers, golf carts, and beverage carts, among others).
  • Repair transmissions, differentials, carburetors, steering systems, hydraulic/hydrostatic pumps and valves.
  • Assists with the appropriate scheduling of preventative maintenance, prioritized repairs, help with golf course maintenance and snow removal when needed.
  • Troubleshoots all equipment.
  • Assists with the tear down of engines and performance of general overhauls.
  • Maintain and perform preventative maintenance according to program on all equipment.
  • Perform daily adjustments and sharpening of mowing equipment.
  • Able to perform intermediate welding, fabricating and spray painting of equipment.
  • Submit requests for purchase of repair parts and replacement supplies. Maintains necessary inventory records.
  • Maintains a clean, well-organized shop with safety the highest of priorities. Follow a clean-as-you go policy; ensure that work sites are broom clean at the end of each job and at the end of the day.
  • Maintain daily records relating to tasks performed.
  • Perform data entry as directed into software for labor tracking and inventory control.
  • Operate equipment in the field to check performance.
  • Complies with all resort’s policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Learns to operate all pieces of equipment.
  • Assists with golf course special projects.
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessary.
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude.
