About The Position

We're looking for a dependable Equipment Technician I to safely operate specialized industrial equipment while supporting environmental and industrial cleaning projects at customer sites. In this hands-on role, you'll help deliver high-quality service by maintaining equipment, assisting field crews, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to MPW standards.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment maintenance in the field.
  • Dependability and flexibility to respond to emergency service calls, changing schedules, and customer needs.

  • High school diploma or vocational/technical training preferred; some high school education considered.
  • One to two years of hands-on equipment maintenance or heavy equipment experience preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience operating or maintaining industrial equipment preferred.
  • MPW certification to operate at least one designated piece of equipment (Water Blaster, Wet/Dry Vacuum, or Wash Truck) or the ability to successfully obtain certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and perform heavy manual labor throughout the workday.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, stoop, climb, and work in confined spaces as required.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, while working around chemicals, fumes, and other industrial hazards.
  • Ability to remain alert and safely perform physically demanding work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to travel for projects that may require overnight or extended stays and work shifts that exceed eight hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response assignments as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial equipment including water blasting, vacuum, and wash truck systems at customer locations.
  • Set up water blast hoses, vacuum hoses, and other equipment needed to safely complete assigned projects.
  • Transport equipment to and from customer job sites.
  • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment in the field.
  • Monitor and maintain proper oil, fluid, and equipment operating levels.
  • Assist field crews with manual labor and industrial cleaning activities as needed.
  • Use specialized equipment to remove materials through vacuuming, water blasting, and pipe, tube, or hole lancing.
  • Clean and inspect equipment before returning it to the branch location.
  • Support labor personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Maintain equipment readiness while working independently with limited access to shop tools.
  • Deliver professional customer service while representing MPW at client sites.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.
